Day 01

Guwahati – Shergaon (Distance: Approx 320 km | Travel Time: 9–10 hours)

On arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly welcomed by the NEexplore NOW team. After a short introduction with the driver, begin your beautiful road journey towards Arunachal Pradesh. The drive is very scenic as the road slowly climbs from the plains of Assam to the hills of Arunachal. En route sightseeing: Bhutan Gate (Bhalukpong) – A beautiful gateway marking the entry into Arunachal Pradesh, located near the Assam–Arunachal border. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Kameng River flowing along the hills. After completing entry formalities, continue the drive towards Shergaon, a charming Himalayan village surrounded by pine forests, mountains and traditional Monpa culture. Shergaon – Mandala Top – Dirang (Distance: Approx 120 km | Travel Time: 5 hours)

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your journey towards Dirang, one of the most beautiful valleys in Arunachal Pradesh. En route sightseeing: Mandala Top – One of the most scenic viewpoints in the region. The place is famous for 108 Buddhist stupas arranged in a circular pattern with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains. Chug Valley – A hidden valley near Dirang known for its stunning landscapes, apple orchards and peaceful village life. Day 03

Dirang – Tawang (Distance: Approx 140 km | Travel Time: 6–7 hours)

Morning breakfast at the hotel and proceed towards Tawang, one of the most famous destinations in Arunachal Pradesh. The road from Dirang to Tawang is one of the most scenic mountain drives in Northeast India. En route attractions: Baishakhi Pass – A beautiful mountain pass offering stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. Sela Pass (13,700 ft) – One of the highest motorable mountain passes in India. The pass remains covered with snow for most of the year and offers spectacular views. Sela Lake (Paradise Lake) – A breathtaking high-altitude lake located near Sela Pass, surrounded by snow-covered mountains. Jaswant Singh War Memorial – A memorial dedicated to the brave Indian soldier Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, who showed extraordinary bravery during the 1962 Indo-China war. Day 04

Tawang Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore the beautiful town of Tawang, which is rich in culture, history and natural beauty. Local sightseeing includes: Tawang Monastery – The largest monastery in India and the second largest in the world. It is more than 400 years old and offers spectacular views of the Tawang valley. Tawang War Memorial – Built in memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1962 Indo-China war. Urgeling Monastery – The birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Giant Buddha Statue – A huge golden Buddha statue overlooking the entire Tawang town. In the evening, enjoy the Light and Sound Show at Tawang War Memorial, which beautifully narrates the heroic stories of Indian soldiers. Overnight stay at Tawang.

Day 05

Tawang – Bumla Pass – Madhuri Lake Excursion

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to the famous Indo-China border area. Places to visit: Bumla Pass – Located at an altitude of around 15,200 ft, this historic pass connects India and China and holds great importance in Indian military history. Madhuri Lake (Sangestar Lake) – A stunning high-altitude lake formed after an earthquake. The lake became famous after the Bollywood movie Koyla starring Madhuri Dixit was filmed here. PT Tso Lake – A beautiful alpine lake surrounded by mountains. After sightseeing, return to Tawang by evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Tawang.

Day 06

Tawang – Bomdila (Distance: Approx 180 km | Travel Time: 7 hours)

Morning breakfast and begin the return journey towards Bomdila. En route visit: Jang Waterfall (Nuranang Falls) – One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Arunachal Pradesh. Sela Tunnel – A newly constructed strategic tunnel built to improve connectivity in the region. Sangti Valley – A picturesque valley famous for its river, mountains and peaceful village landscape.
