Day-by-Day Journey Plan
Day 01

Guwahati Arrival → Kamakhya Temple → Umiam Lake → Shillong

Arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station where our team will receive you and begin the scenic journey towards Meghalaya. First visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered Shakti Peeths in India, located on Nilachal Hill overlooking the Brahmaputra River. After the temple visit, begin the beautiful hill drive towards Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. En-route stop at Umiam Lake (Barapani), a large scenic reservoir surrounded by forested hills and one of the most iconic landscapes of Meghalaya. It is famous for panoramic viewpoints and photography. Continue the drive to Shillong and check into the hotel.

Day 02

Shillong → Mawlyngbna Offbeat Adventure → Shillong

After breakfast drive to Mawlyngbna Village, a hidden eco-tourism destination known for its pristine rivers, ancient fossils and adventure landscapes. Activities include: Exploration of crystal clear rivers, Split Rock Trek / Hike through dramatic rock formations, Visit fossil sites estimated to be millions of years old, Natural pools and village eco-tourism experience. Mawlyngbna is a perfect place for travelers who enjoy nature, geology and offbeat adventure. Later return to Shillong.

Day 03

Shillong → Sohra (Cherrapunji) Waterfall Circuit

After breakfast drive to Sohra (Cherrapunji), famous for dramatic cliffs, heavy rainfall and spectacular waterfalls. Explore some of the most stunning natural attractions of the region: Lingsiar Falls, Prut Falls, Wei Sawdong Falls – famous turquoise multi-tier waterfall, Arwah Cave – limestone cave with fossil formations, Seven Sisters Falls – one of India’s tallest waterfalls, Nohkalikai Falls – India’s tallest plunge waterfall, Sunset Point overlooking Bangladesh plains. Cherrapunji is famous for its cliffs and deep valleys where clouds constantly roll across the landscape.

Day 04

Cherrapunji Offbeat Hidden Waterfalls

Today explore the lesser-known hidden waterfalls of Sohra, away from tourist crowds. Visit: Pung Lyer Waterfall, Wei Saffo Falls, Rang Sakhom Natural Swimming Pool. These locations are surrounded by dense forest and untouched nature, making them perfect for relaxation and nature photography.

Day 05

Cherrapunji → Wahkhen Village → Bamboo Trek → Puntung

After breakfast drive to Wahkhen Village, an authentic Khasi village known for the famous Bamboo Trek. The bamboo trek is one of the most thrilling trekking routes in Meghalaya where bamboo ladders and bridges guide trekkers through valleys and forests. The trail leads to Puntung Village, a small scenic village surrounded by mountains and rivers. Experience traditional Khasi hospitality and rural lifestyle.

Day 06

Longest Living Root Bridge → Mawlynnong → Dawki / Shnongpdeng

After breakfast trek to see the World’s Longest Living Root Bridge, a remarkable structure created by guiding the aerial roots of rubber fig trees across streams over centuries. Later drive towards Mawlynnong Village, known as the cleanest village in Asia, famous for community-based eco-tourism and sustainable living. Continue to Dawki / Shnongpdeng, located near the India-Bangladesh border. Visit the famous Umngot River, widely known for its crystal-clear water where the riverbed is visible through the water, making boats appear as if floating in the air. Optional activities: Boating, Kayaking, Riverside camping.

Day 07

Dawki → Krang Suri Falls → Phe Phe Falls → Laitlum Canyon → Shillong

After breakfast start the scenic journey back towards Shillong. Visit some of Meghalaya’s most stunning waterfalls: Krang Suri Falls – turquoise waterfall famous for swimming, Phe Phe Falls – dramatic multi-tier waterfall hidden inside forest valleys. Later visit Laitlum Canyon, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Meghalaya offering endless views of rolling hills and deep valleys. Return to Shillong in the evening.

Day 08

Shillong → Guwahati Departure

After breakfast check-out from hotel. Drive back to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station through the scenic hill highway. Tour ends with unforgettable memories of Meghalaya’s hidden landscapes.
